“The primary mission in life that God has given is in the family, is in the workplace, is in the spheres of influence, to make (us) missionary in the places that (we) live … so that other people become attracted to become followers of Christ.”
In his teenage years, Mike Arents had thoughts of becoming a priest but was not ready to be ordained. He then decided to join the ICPE mission in the Philippines and become a missionary first. Life in the community and a period of discernment after that showed him that God was calling him to be a lay missionary and to the married life.
Working in a parish today, Mike believes it is the calling God has for him. He believes he is now in the best place to serve and form other Catholics to become more rooted in their faith.
