Singing is a beautiful way of praying. For me, that in itself brings happiness.
The singing by the Cathedral Choir and the music produced by the pipe organ are beautiful components of the mass. So I was very happy to be part of the Cathedral Children’s Choir when it first began.
With the closure of the Cathedral due to the pandemic, I was very glad I had the opportunity to be involved in hymn recordings for the online mass for families.
Preparing and training for the choir sessions can be tiring. Sometimes I feel tired even before going for the recording sessions. What encourages me is when I start singing together with my choir friends, it brings me joy and cheers me up greatly.
Praying with My Family and Friends
In my family, I am the second in a family of five children, with three brothers and a sister. My parents have been home schooling me since I was seven.
I love attending the online Mass with my family, especially when my younger siblings sing along. It is heartening to see that happening within my family as I think the singing by the children’s choir does encourage children at home to participate in the online Mass.
I have a group of home schooling friends that I pray with too. I believe praying is a meaningful way to bring light to others. So every time I pray the rosary online with my home schooling friends, we make it a point to pray for others, especially those going through difficult times.
To me, this is the best way to give light to others – through the power of prayers.
