The Beginning
Father Laurent Marie Imbert arrives in Singapore, marking the official beginning of Catholic presence. The first Mass is celebrated, laying the foundation for what would become a thriving Catholic community.
First Church Built
The Church of the Good Shepherd is constructed, becoming the first Catholic church in Singapore. This historic building still stands today as a testament to our enduring faith and heritage.
Cathedral of the Good Shepherd
The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is consecrated, becoming the mother church of the Catholic community in Singapore and serving as the seat of the Archbishop.
Archdiocese Established
Singapore becomes an Archdiocese, recognizing the growth and maturity of the Catholic Church in the nation. This marks a new chapter in our ecclesiastical history.
Papal Visit
Pope John Paul II visits Singapore, celebrating Mass at the National Stadium and blessing the Catholic community. This historic visit strengthens the faith of Catholics across the nation.

Fr. Laurent Marie Imbert
Pioneer Missionary (1821)
